1980 SBA that is not clad and is 7.34g

    wow. It made it here to Northeast PA. What a trip for it. Some time ago we got a quarter as well. I think to try to make copies of these types of coins is crazy. I guess the only thing we can do with it is to keep it in our collection and make sure that it does not get back out. Or do we have to turn it in somewhere?

    Counterfeit indeed but it looks like that coin was stuck to the tire of a semi doing a freight run between Albuquerque and LA............

    Aye this very well could be a South/Central American counterfeit, and one that has circulated a great deal (I have a couple of brass Sacagaweas in my collection).

    Can't make a definite judgement by pictures only though. It's very beat-up. Would you consider submitting it to The Black a Cabinet for further investigation?
