I was just going through a box of unc forighn bills that someone wants to sell me. I know little about foreighn money so I am trying to research them on ebay and various sights. wish I had a book on these. The owner said to see what they are worth and give him 1\3 and he would be happy. There are also a lot of coins. I am just posting a few pics of some of the coins that have me stumped. I thought whats it worth a perfect post. Lots of fun lots of work lol.:desk:
Here is another neat one. It was apparently not cut out right but it was bent back still kinda neat. Columbia 5 Pesos ORO 1980
Time to hit your nearby public library's research section and consult the Standard Catalog of Paper Money (commonly referred to as "Pick"). If they don't have it, they can get if for you on a short-term inter-library loan. If they have the Standard Catalog of World Coins 18th Century volume, you can also wade through the 100s of pages devoted to the German States locating your 3 pfennig coin. It was minted a century before there was a unified Germany.
Kewl...you definitely do have a job on your hands. Cant believe the box load you have..definitely kewl maybe these sites will help figure some out OR...maybe we should all just come over to your house and give ya a hand..lol http://www.tomchao.com/ http://numismondo.com/ http://www.kcshop.com/imagegallery/ http://www.delcampe.net/page/seller_sales/language,E,nickname,olli .html
Thanks for the sites twiggs I will use them to help with some of the sorting. Found 2 notes from Central Bank of Ceylon 1985 that are numbered 199999 and 20000. Neat numbers if nothing else. Thanks again, Fastfun1111
yep..just found an EXCELLENT one your 7F coin looks to be from sudan http://worldcoingallery.com/index.htm that site has a drop down box up to the right..then you click on show all coins to view them better. If you click on INSTANT IDENTIFIERS to the left of that link...it opens up a page showing various coins. Sudan had the closest marks that resembles your coin Im very intrigued by the small coin on the bottom of 0005...looks like the Virgin Mary to me
to me..the back image is that of horses and a chariot..or whats left of it the way its struck...only thing Ive seen so far that looks similar is roman coins the face on the front however, looks more egyptian to me btw..thanks for the closeups yeah..I would have to say 4 horses and a chariot OK..so far this is what Ive found on that coin..check this out http://esty.ancients.info/numis/inexp.html damn..that IS the coin
Great job Twiggs I would say that is the coin. It will be neat to own such an old coin. Thanks for the help and all the great info. Fastfun1111
your welcome..found it on the 300th web page I looked at...lmao actually, after looking through numerous coin pages, egyptian and roman I decided to google 'chariot and 4 horses, and there it was. It was exciting to finally find it. I even had hubby looking at the coin pic. He thought the person was a woman, I pointed out, not necessarily. Then I pointed out the 'egyptian' style eye the person had, well he thought I was totally bonkers then..lol Took a while of looking at the back of the coin to figure out what the heck it was suppose to be. I dont mind gazing at pages , so post more pics if you'd like the help
heres another good site I just found. http://www.wcoins.com/fc/p.php?pic=C2088 and heres an excellent pic of that ancient coin http://www.constantinethegreatcoins.com/posthumous/
Heres another I am not having much luck with. It is apx 15\16 of an inch tall. Looks like a KNIGHT ON HORSEBACK and I am nopt real sure on the other. Any ideas?? Thanks again

ok here ya go..a whole page of them..which does yours resemble most http://www.anythinganywhere.com/commerce/coins/coinpics/indi-scyth.htm
That one sure looks close on the horse side. I am new to this looking at up these old coins but you must have some experience becuase I looked at a lot of sites and found nothing even close. Thanks again
Looking at the link you found there are several that are pretty close to the one I have. I would say it is from this era. Thanks again
Looking at those pics I would say that the one that is MA-2270 is the closest but not exact. What do you think?
naa..that horse has two heads.. overall, figure and writing around the coin edge, this one resembles it the most. SCYTHIAN, Azes II, c 35 BC - 5 AD, silver drachm, MA-2306, S-96.13D, horseman w/ whip R / Pallas standing facing, Hazara, Mu before horse, F $36.00
