I collect and hoard I guess. I do plan filling the album with pieces I pick out, but the clad Roosevelts are pretty common so I mostly want to concentrate on the silvers. Looking for toned and high grade coins as well as the 82 no P and 96 W. I don't see myself replacing many of the clads unless there's just a dog in the batch. I focus on Jefferson Nickels but I buy coins that catch my eye so the album is just storage for those I can't resist that aren't slabbed, and if the clads are full just less I have to worry with. Who knows there might be some die clashes or MM varieties in there too I'll update you when they arrive.

I purchased this at the last Heritage internet auction basically by accident and am thrilled with it. I was trying to bid on a rare Shield Nickel, but this one came accross the block and didn't get much interest. The 1885 3-Cent has always been a dream coin for me, but when I looked into the 1884 a little more I realized its business strike counterpart is FAR rarer in high grades than the 1885! I like coins that cost less as a PR-65 than as a VF-20 too :-o
Mintage for Business Strike: 1,700 and CoinValues Magazine Price in MS-65 $22,500
Mintage for Proof: 3,942 and CoinValues Magazine Price in PR-65 $600
I'll take the proof anyday and save the money :)

For an entry level draped bust half cent or large cent or a capped bust half. There's decent examples under $100 try to buy problem free original coins. There's some decent stuff to be found I nearly capped bust dimes too

    Few more, I think the 1819 might be the 1819/8, not positive though. IMG_8055.JPG IMG_8056.JPG IMG_8057.JPG IMG_8065.JPG IMG_8066.JPG

It looks like a proof because it IS a proof. Good catch, because I sure didnt say anything.

I really like this style of large cent. They seem to have aged really well because most of them that I've seen were still in pretty good shape.
