Ghorid empire, Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad b. Sam (558-599 AH / 1163-1202 AD) AE Jital 2.2g 13mm Northern Tokharistan, Kobadien, imitation of the Sasanian king Peroz billon, drachm, 30mm; 6th century AD? Obv: Bactrian inscription; Crowned Bust of Peroz within circle flanked by Tamghas Rev: Fire altar with two attendants within circle Five countermarks. A reverse countermark is why I am posting it here. This countermark is an optical illusion. It can be seen as a two-humped camel. It an also be seen as an elephant! The camel's tail is the trunk.
