Hi guys! I've bought a small heap of coins today and I was wondering if any of you could help me out with them at all? I'm making two threads too: one for the American coins I've bought today and another for my far-east coins. First up are these two Buffalo Nickels, not crazy rare I know but I'm from England so I don't see these that often, what grade would you think these are? I'm thinking that the one on the left is XF, maybe AU if you look at it right? The one on the right I'm thinking is probably Good(ish), not too sure. The next two I'm pretty pleased to have, not seen either for sale before over here in the UK. I'm thinking the Dime is AU maybe? The 3-Cent-Nickel I know is holed so will be low value/grade but it was 50p and I thought it was worth it for that Let me know what you think guys, all comments welcome!
Teach a man to fish: http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/ Take a look at that website and tell us what you think. We'll post our opinions as well.
Alright I've had a good look at the site you linked (many thanks for the link btw!) and I think my '37 Buffalo is AU-50 whilst my '23 is G-06. The '43 dime I think is MS-63 whilst the three-cent nickel would be F-15 if it wasn't holed. What do you guys think?
I think those are very good guesses. I think if you were to get a number of opinions from people here and average them all out, the answer you get would be very similar to what you came up with. I also think there is a chance that your dime is actually AU-58, with a trace of wear on the high points. However, it is nearly impossible to tell that from pictures.
