So I don't collect bills much/at all but I got a $2 * note today and was wondering if it's worth more than face. I know a picture might be helpful but I'm out of town. Anyways, it's a 1976 L0040XX10* where the X's represent two digits. It's folded several times and there is a slight tear (about 1/8 inch) at the top near the center. Obvioulsy the condition isn't great so what (if anything) is it worth in this condition? While I'm at it, what's it worth in uncirculated condition?
since it is in that kind of shape I think you would be hard put to find someone who would give you over fave value. The ones that will bring money are the ones that are UNC and that have a low low # number such as.... 000000125* Speedy
Sorry, but Speedy is right. I would keep it though. Star notes are neat. You could try selling it on ebay, (I can hear the gun shots now, lol) but that is taking a risk. Did you find it in circulation? Phoenix
I received it in change which was odd in the first place because I don't remember ever getting a $2 bill in circulation. I got another $2 with it but it wasn't an interesting serial number.
i would keep it. its only $2. star notes are rare and neat also. just think in 50 years your kids will find it and it will be worth alot then.
I would say its not worth more than face in that condition, but I would keep it anyway.....only costs you two dollars.
