I've had a standing order with the US Mint for two proof ASE's for as long as they've had the subscription (now enrollment) option but this year there's been a hiccup.......for some odd reason they made the subscription (enrollment) for 2016. I swear I checked my enrollments a few weeks ago and the offering was pegged for 2015. I don't think I'll get any sleep tonite.......what should I do?
I was going to go with throwing a tantrum until you said 'kick the neighbor's dog'. Oh, well. As far as what you should do, either see see if you can order now and get one, no matter, or wait a couple years and purchase what you want. Chances you will get what you get now, only at a smaller price.
Did they maybe allocate 2015s to you already and then bump your sub to 2016? Maybe the 15s are already en route to you! Rob
It might just be a bit of bad luck. My subscription "carried over" when the big website redo happened, and the 2015s arrived on schedule earlier this month. On the other hand, maybe I just had a bit of good luck. Does anyone know if they had to make those changes manually?
The US Mint has gotten retarded since they got hacked and had to have everyone submit new passwords etc. They are messing up in every aspect possible.
My subscription for 10 Proof ASE's "carrried over" without any problem. But the FedEx Smartpost "sucks" It took two weeks https://www.cointalk.com/threads/20...-silver-proof-coin.257472/page-2#post-2060971
I vote you throw in the towel, pal! Just buy an overpriced PR70 and MS70 pair from Mint Products, and if you must have them raw, crack them out.
Oh, you would vote to have me close my account with the blaggards...... I'll Marshall on and just order them in the manual sense. God forsaken automation process ain't worth a pittance.........danged aggravating though. Thanks for your input brothers and sisters.
I know you'll get them, but you should give the Mint an earful for dropping the ball on this. It's inexcusable.
FYI, Here is something else to consider if you have an account with the U.S Mint web site. Always check your Account on a regular basis with the "new" U.S. Mint web site. Due to just changing my credit card information (new card number), all my subscription enrollments with the Mint had lapsed, were not recognized and had to be individually updated. Much to my surprise, my ATB 5 Oz. Puck and another long standing order were cancelled after updating my new credit card information. I had to order the two products separately that should have been done automatically to keep my collection run intact. I was not happy to say the least. After three phone calls, the last with a Mint Customer Service Supervisor, they finally had me satisfied that things were back to where they were with the old web site and my original subscriptions.
Do they work weekends? I think you'll get an automated greeting and run down of their business hours. No?
And see if they have any left over tote bags. I know I cancelled a few of them last year, so they must be laying around somewhere.
The mint did you a favor, now you can order them next week when you order the new commems and save on shipping. You should call them and thank 'em.
