It's very easy to get hooked on Shield Nickels . If you like varieties ,if you want to find new varieties , if you want a series that is affordable , lastly a series that the first of its kind....the first nickels. This series never disappoints me. Just when you think you see it all ......start cherry pickin shields. I always ask a dealer at a show if they have any to sell ? Never over look these gems. I'll post some later or tomorrow .
This is by far one of my faves... not only does it look undergraded but appears cameo.. wish i knew what the criteria was for cam/ deepcam... otherwise just seems like a trade secret of the tpg... oh and the obverse is all doubled on this one....
Is it just me or are alot of shield nickels today in non-collectible condition due to pitting/ corrosion/environmental damage.. i for one feel like its a very underrated undervalued series.. thats why I opted go with a proof for my type set.. how can you go wrong with a mintage of 1000 and such a reactive metal? Hard telling how many actually survived... pcgs pop report on mine was 36
Will you acquire the soon-to-be-minted 48th Mersenne prime coin to pay down the US debt? I wonder what it's composition would be...
