I pulled this coin last night while roll searching. I noticed the hair detail, the memorial steps, and even the two little lines (on '74 large dates) on the pedistal were really strong. However, it was dusty/dull looking. I put it in acetone last night and when I got home today, this is what I had. Other than the gash on the forehead, and a few contact marks, I think this coin is beautiful. However, I know absolutely nothing about toned coins. I want to know:

    1) what is your impression of the coin? Does it look toned or just stained?
    2) Would it be something you would keep or junk copper?

I'm just trying to expand my knowledge.

Also, it looks toned and not stained to me.

I'd keep it I have several I've found like it and while they may not carry any premium I love the look.
