Today is the birthday of our favorite affordable emperor, Gordian III.

We all have coins of his, share away!

I'm a closet collector of Gordian III. I know they're a dime-a-dozen, but I like them. I won't post them all, just the three I collected last year...

Wow TIF => that coin is killer (very sweet)

... curious, have I seen that baby before?

I just bought one today so technically I don't have one yet, but nice coins.

Thanks, SteveO! I posted it in late 2013. It came from one of those large mixed lots-- the Goldberg lot (although in the original posting I mistakenly said it came from the Stack's lot).

Huh, it's kinda funny (and not ha-ha funny) ... typically, Gordian III coins are quite inexpensive and therefore everybody has some real sweeties ... but sadly, I think my Gordian III examples are amongst the bottom-dwellers (I wonder what I was thinking at the time?) ... oh, and there aren't any animals? (wha?)

... maybe I should try to upgrade my Gordie-III collection?

For an emperor whose coins are plentiful and inexpensive I should get some too. I might have a ho-hum denarius from a the Stack's lot but given the prices of these, I should spring for a much better example. It's time for both of us to go coin shopping, wheeeee!

Huh? ... apparently you're a fricken bad influence, my girl friend ....

=> together, we could have the best collection "ever" (but sadly, we'd have to bury it in the sand behind our dumpster-apartment!!)

Bad influences are what draw us men to women. :D Or was that the other way around?

In any case that safe of yours won't be big enough.
