  1. I obtained some good bargains on E-Bay, but never at .99

Shill bidding is the reason I will bid the .99 but won't bid again until very close to the end. The second chance offers tend to let me know there is a lot of shill bidding taking place. I like the best offer format better, but some of those are asking way above the board prices to begin with. I feel more comfortable trying to negotiate a price that was more in line with it's worth to start with.

It's funny you say that. Often times I think my BIN prices are too high, then I check other or completed listings on E-Bay and find out that they are just fine. That said, many of my coins don't really have price guides because of either toning premiums or those associated with market place availability.

Dave, To the right of the search bar, click Advanced Search. From there you have a whole bunch of options to sort/filter search results.

If you are already browsing active listings you can also toggle between sold and active by selecting the checkbox at the bottom of the left sidebar.

I wouldn't see a reason to report a seller for that. You're pretty much giving away the item for free ending at 0.99 cents. You can't make money donating coins. :)

I guess for me, it's a matter of principal. E-Bay says that a deal is a deal for both buyer & seller.

I once sold a US Mint Set that had $3.83 face value of coins in it for $1.78.

That really hurt. I then took a loss on the shipping.
    That hurt even more.

Now, I only use a .99 cent start if I'm in a "giving" sort of mood.
