I bought 3 more sets of the 1993 Jefferson coin and currency sets this past week including one with a star note..
I have 5 of the nickels that are slabbed and now will have 4 sets to go with them. I am going to have to get the 97 Botanical Set before long I guess, but I can't pass up a bargain (at least to me) when I find it on one of the 94's.. Crazy HUH

When I see these at LCS (which is hardly ever) I ALWAYS buy them. Even got a '97 for the price of a '94 once...

(Out of curiosity, I checked to see how many of the SP Jeffersons I had...looks like I have 8 of the '94 and 3 of the '97. Gonna have to find some more of those '97s...)

    :)

I don't understand. What is so special about this?

It has a low mintage. The nickel was only issued in this set. And finally I just think they are cool for a lack of a better word I guess. Not expensive they haven't really increased in value, but I don't collect for what it may be worth but because I like it. This just happened to catch my attention.

    The 94 is like 167,000 mintage, 97 only 25,000.

I believe only 5% of the sets had star* notes, and most of mine are low serial numbers too.
