I always find silver by pulling my hand along the magnetized part of the gizmo that slips into the coin roll machine... and the trash pipe invariably has SILVER in it! it's the first thing I check from across the lobby is the trash pipe-- amazing that folks don't want to bend down to take alook! Yesterday I walked by 3 different Coinstar machines. AM: 1940-S nickel. Average circulated. No idea why rejected PM1: 1997 Cent, crudded up; 1970-D dime, avg circ; 2007 Canada nickel, bright PM2: nuttin Rob
Not a Coinstar find per se, but I went to add value to my subway/bus pass and used a machine that gives out dollar coins in change. Found a 1979 Susan B sitting there. Free buck!

Ok. Question. How does one check the trash pipe? I have one that I go to check on but I never have been able to figure out where to look besides the change dropout.
Found a crusty 1911 Wheatie on the floor next to the coinstar this morning. Not a great find but I love finding 100+ year old coins for FV, or free in this case!
Pulled a 2010 Canadian quarter and 2007 Euro nickel from the reject slot of my credit union coin counter this afternoon.
Yesterday I found 4 quarters and a wheat cent in the tray where you dump your coins in. On the counter a 1953 silver dime (which is in AU condition with toning), and on the floor another wheatie. Pretty good if i do say so myself.
YES! I love TD bank! Somebody jammed machine with SBAs & Ike's. I was handed them & scolded that "you can't put these coins in here!" Love to dump on Sunday late afternoon! The jam makes you $8-10!
Always check the coinstar reject bin when I hit the groc store. Occasionally I find a few Canadian dimes or pennies in there. But today I walked off with two handfulls of change!... US: 2+ Canadian: 14.25+ EU: 1.25+ Phillipines: 31+ Random Foreign: 15-20 coins Gold Coast Casino $1 John Ascuaga Nugget $1 2 Starcade tokens 1 Solar Car Wash token 1 Morro Bay California flattened penny Good times! After nearly 2 years of faithfully checking my Walmart, I found a clad dime in January. I was about to give up when I saw this in the tray today:
