I searched hundreds of quarter rolls for the elusive silver and didn't find not one coin. All well, name of the game. However, I checked my dad's change bowl the other day, and sitting on top was a Canadian quarter. I noticed it had a different shine to it. Flipped it over and it was a 1959! I guess fate works in strange ways. So does your family ever beat you to the finds?
You'll have better luck just wandering into a bank branch and asking them if they have any loose in their tray... I have a little "route" where I just hit 20-banks in an hour or so... wander in and ask them... couple of times, tellers have called me and told me they have some "old half dollars" that somebody'd just dropped off-- got 20-silvers once that way! 98% of the time the Rolled Halfs have already been searched for silver; but not always... another time I got 15 silvers out of 40 that were rolled up and stashed in the back of a teller's drawer... often times these tellers will even KNOW that they're silver and let you buy them anyway! which amazes me, especially now that silver is over $17/oz! So keep plugging; you'll hit silver sooner or later!
