Just a 1 1/2 hour drive, plus I should be able to make it a family affair!

To all of you that are coming, I will most likely be going saturday. I mainly collect US error coins and tokens. Would love to check out other's collections.

I'm going. I received an email from the US Mint. they will be at the show.this is what the email said.

"Participation of the U.S. Mint comes in conjunction with the release date of the United States Marshal’s Commemorative Coin Collection. Come to the Long Beach Expo to be the first to purchase these coins. Limited quantities are available on a first come, first serve basis"

I believe I will head up there on Thursday rather than the weekend. Hope to catch some of you there and meet you.

Oh No here we go again with first day of issue and limited amounts available each day for a new US mint coin. Will we see lines and hired purchasers again? And the major dealers buying the coins from people as soon as they pick them up? Will the TPG's have first day of issue labels?

sorry, the email came from the Long Beach Expo, not the US mint.

I'm going, haven't missed it for a few years now. I'm just debating with myself whether I should try and come Thursday or Friday by changing my work schedule somehow. Or I can make things easier and go Saturday. It just seems dealers leave earlier on the last day, more people show up on a sat, deals are lost, etc. This will be a tough one

I hadn't thought about that. I think I will probably go Thursday then.

Yeah, I've noticed those things. You'd be better off going as early as possible.

Will be there at my table (Table #448) which I share with forum member bigjpst and we'll be there the entire show. Looking forward to a great show and hope to meet more forum members as that is always fun. Be sure to stop by and say hello.

Many dealers do pack up and leave early so plan accordingly as others have mentioned. Some of the east coast dealers will even leave on Friday, but most stay through at least part of Saturday. For the last few shows there, you really don't start to notice the show starting to close until about 1pm or 2pm on Saturday. I know that we stay at our table until at least 3:30pm or 4:00pm and we're usually one of the last to leave the show.

    See you there!

Maaaaaybeeee - since it will be a freaking Zoo what with the US Mint releasing the US Marshalls Service 225th Anniversary Coins.

There will be lines and more than likely transients, bums, hobos, actors and all sorts of other non-collecting types clogging up the streets, the bourse, and the entry areas. All paid for by the gold digging coin dealers wanting those First Release/First Graded slabs. The Kevin Lipton's of the coin dealer world will rule Longbeach on the 29th of January.

It will be the HOF and Kennedy Coin Releases at a Major US Coin Show all over again.

But, maaaaybeeee I'll drive down there just to witness the chaos!

Would be happy to take a look... if I'm not interested, I can probably refer you to someone at the show who might be :)
