Half Dime. I wonder what it will grade, my PCGS membership might expire before I have another batch ready.

Anything toned Pcgs will be very hard on grading. Unless you have them use $$ coin sniffer. I would send to Ngc if you want the best grade.

first off ... i just wanted to say that the following practice doesnt bother me ... but I am curious ... (curious enough to ask the question!)

And I am not calling out anyone in particular ... a lot of people seem to do this. So nobody freak out! Esp. those that recently posted any foreign coins (well foreign if you are from the US anyway!). Jello this means you esp since you posted at the top of this page. You know I LOVE YOU Jello -- you have great taste in coins. (so this is not about YOU specifically).

I notice that a lot of people post foreign coins in this US Coins Forum ... even though there is a separate forum for world (foreign) coins. Why is that? is there very little traffic in the world coins forum so a lot of world (foreign) coin collectors post here in order to get more feedback or more likes or more comments? Or is there another reason? Maybe some foreign coin collectors want to try to broaden the minds of US coin collectors to show them some foreign coins? Maybe there is another reason I can't think of? Perhaps many collectors collect both US and foreign so they don't think of those two categories of coins being separated (after all the US is part of the world!). And if you are from Europe, then US Coins are foreign coins. I suppose in fairness the other forum is called World Coins and not Foreign Coins.

In any event, it's a free country, and this practice doesn't bother me, but I was just curious why it happens so much. It seems to me that it would be a bit like me posting a lot of my US coins in the paper money forum, which I suppose is sort of an interesting thought, but then I wonder why there are so many forums created if everyone wants to post everything in a single forum? Maybe the host of this site should simply merge all the various forums into a single big forum? That would at least remove the confusion on which forum to post in! And perhaps we could all get a bit more of an education being seeing lots of different posts on different aspects.

On another front ... I was always sort of confused about the Coin Chat forum ... as many times the threads in Coin Chat seem sort of interchangeable with the USCoinsForum. Why are there two forums with pretty much the same content?

I have to admit that sometimes I feel very dullwitted and slow about this stuff -- I am sure there is some reason for all this -- but it's beyond me sometimes! Ahh the trials of being nearly 60.

In any case, thanks for your patience to explain all this to this somewhat senile old U.S. Coin Collector!

    A) It's probably people who collect both US and Foreign
    B) The Foreign sub-forum is less frequented and receives less views and Likes

    If I had to guess.

Ahh ok ... that makes sense. Perhaps people get to know others in a particular forum so they post where their friends are. After all this is a bit of a "social network"

In any case, it doesn't bother me at all!! I was just curious, that's all.

This is just for fun!! It's a pastime. And it's fun for me to see the occasional foreign coin in here -- just to see what the rest of the world's money looks like (since I never surf over to the world coins forum).

In any case, I never understood people getting all bent out of shape over minutia anyway. I dont mind people posting whatever in here. It's all interesting to me.

Someone recently posted in the Collectors Universe Forum that their wife just died ... so sad. Compared with life and death ... coins and forum postings are quickly put in their place in the scheme of things.

I probably should not have posted this question at all -- my intent was not to make anyone feel weird or outcast -- I was just curious. Maybe I will start posting some cool paper money notes on here as I always felt like US paper money and US coins were so closely related.

There! Done! Now I am a rebel (LOL). I have to admit it's kind of fun crossing these little arbitrary boundaries.

The name of this thread is "Let's see your newest acquisitions" it doesn't say US, foreign or what ever
heck if you got a new car cat dog you can post that to.
But what do I know I'm only 70 and still trying to figure things out LOL
