I would DIE for a proof seated quarter.

The proof SLQ would be one of my 'fantasy' coins, that, and the proof 1853 that @Hugh Stiel has. Cant remember if it was a quarter or a half, but it was b-e-a-utiful

Very nice pick up. I don't know why but some AU coins look nicer to me than higher grades of the same coin. Of course that's just my opinion and doesn't apply to all issues. SLQ type1 is an example I like the higher grade but would settle a nice 55 or 58, but brown coppers AU and up beat the reds hands down in my view. Again super nice Lincoln commem

I agree. Many times I'll take a really nice AU58 over low MS coins.

Thanks! I've always wanted some pre 1933 gold and the price was right.

COIN: 1838 SEATED LIBERTY DIME, NO DRAPERY, LARGE STARS graded by NGC as AU55 and approved by CAC with a green sticker.

    PURCHASE DATE: 01/06/2015

COMMENTS: First coin of 2015! This is the third coin I have purchased from a fellow collector / vest-pocket dealer from the CAC / CT / PCGS forums. This coin was submitted to CAC by the aforementioned person, who purchased it from Gerry Fortin (site here). Gerry listed it as F-110, which does not have quite the spectacular die break as the F-110A, but you can see the start of it. The Obverse die crack starts nears the Y in LIBERTY to the right of the shield, through the skirt nears Liberty's foot, and off the coin at 4 o'clock. Listed by Gerry as an R4. Clashing mark on the reverse near the 'ME' of DIME. See Gerry's page here for more 1838 10C f110 details. Overall, a very pleasing AU coin with some nice flash in the correctly angled light, and some pleasing crud around the devices on the top right and bottom of the Obverse. There is a small rim ding at NOON, which I didn't notice prior to taking these photos.

Closeups show detail great, but not luster very well. :sorry: Sometimes I think my coin photography is moving backwards...

Don't really want any lol I'd buy a rainbow toner but my Pf 68 Lincoln is worth huge registry points on my ngc set hoping this is to haven't put it in yet. Was only $100 anyway

I dont 'want' it either other than i inherited a complete silver quarter set from 1932-1964 minus a few dates and some early proofs. All the major business strike keys though.

I am working on assembling the post 1964 silvers to keep the set going, its all PCGS or NGC grade, mint state for the most part. High AU's on the keys. The moderns shouldnt be hard to acquire, and I pick one or two up here and there if I can steal them cheap enough.

Actually one of my larger goals is to slowly aquire as many different quarters as I can as long as they are silver and produced regularly by the US mint.
