His wife hates him... LOL :goofer: :mouth: :goofer: :mouth: :goofer: http://cgi.ebay.com/20-000-CERTIFIE...847QQihZ007QQcategoryZ525QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Dang, I read that and have to wonder what his wife thinks of him. Sounds like he should be getting rid of wife and keeping his hoard..
considering the "quality" of his coins (want to bet most of the "random" certified coins will be INB and not the better known ones?), the wife probably doesn't trust him.
Looks like a bargain until you consider how little 14 common date PCGS & NGC slabbed coins could be worth. He might throw in a gold piece or a Morgan dollar, but a lot of the other coins shown often sell at auction for less than their grading fees.:goof:
I don't like the idea of letting someone else pick out the 14 coins they will send for a winning bid, no matter how impressive the total collection looks.
Red Flag #1 = Feedback Red Flag #2 = Red Flag #3 = Listing $20,000 Lot but really selling only a small part. I could go on, but why bother? ADVERTISEMENT: 20' pole for rent.
fishy The one thing I read that stands out is the fact that you are only guaranteed one silver dollar and one $5 gold eagle or gold pesos. The other coins can all be modern coins such as Ike's and copper/nickel halves. Let's see, common date Morgan in ms 64 = $40, one $5 gold eagle = $80, one proof set = $15 another hand full of coins = ???? That is a long ways off of the $250.00 thi bid is up to now.
Definitely an auction to avoid. Other than the specifically stated items, the other items will be INB, IGS, and (Insert three or four random letters and make up a grading service) modern coins in MS or Proof "70". Definitely not worth the money.
Roy,it sounds like you should use a 10,000' pole to give that nutcase vendor the widest berth possible. Aidan.
Strange, he is advertising a $20,000 collection of coins for sale, but only offering a single lot of 14 (that he selects himself) from this collection. Guess the $20,000 bit is just to attract attention. Looks like he did well, getting over $300 for his 14 coins.
Yeah, he did pretty well. His ploy is probably what helped to. I tried my pole and this is what happened Phoenix
