I've had the flu for the past 5 days so I've been surfing, a lot. I found these looking for the Full Step Nickel Club and just wondered if anyone here knew much about them? I haven't seen any pictures on here so I was curious as to where they could be found and how much if anything they sell for.

Do not put photos up that are not yours without a url or acknowledgement of ownership. Thanks.

I've seen these for sale. It depends on their condition and if slabbed or not, plus whether they are part of a set with paperwork. I've seen these sell for between $55 & $75 for the proof and business strikes as you show.

Yes these are from the Full Step Nickel Club. They are what the original Jefferson nickel looked like. Felix Schlag whom designed the Jefferson nickel won the contest for the new design. After awarded the prize he was told to change the design because it was to art deco . These are minted in silver for the Full Step Nickel Club members in matte finish ,and proof.
Only 1938 were struck of each. I beg to differ over a price point of $50-75. As they first sold at $38 matte and $42 proof. I have both in matching numbers S.E.G.S. holders .
I seldom see them up for sale, not saying they are not out there.....I believe they were produced for the 65th anniversary in 2003 of the design of the Jefferson Nickel .

I actually bid for this set of rounds in the SEGS holders with the paperwork included on EBay but was outbid. I recall them selling for about $55 if I remember correctly but it could have been for more. It was awhile ago.

I sold a set last year at a show for five times that amount.

I'm going to keep an eye especially in the $55 range.

There's a nice example available via Buy It Now on ebay. According to the PCGS database, the price guide value is $72. Seller has it up for $54.99 w/ Free Shipping.

I'm realizing that I mis-read this post, as this is NOT an example of a FS Nickel Club design. My bad and apologies. It's just a nice example of a FS Nickel.

I was not aware of the FS Nickel 'Club', so glad that I have not been able to read up on the Felix Schlag design.

It was not the full step nickel club design . ...it was the original design done by Felix Schlag before he was made to redesign the original winning design. Congress and the mint did not accept the Art Deco design and letting after the fact they awarded Schlag the award for his design.
The FSN in the honor of 65 of the nickel had 1938 matte finish and 1938 proofs struck in silver.999 and sold them to collectors . Schlag story is a very interesting read. Google him and you're in for some strange surprises .

Reading now and it IS very interesting! What a shame .... the original design was a beauty. Now I'm going to have to keep my eye out for one of those collection issues. I see that some sold as recently on eBay as 1/1.

What Paddy said, plus these were struck recently, meaning post 1938.

    They were struck in silver.

Here are some better images of the Matte and Proof finishes> my two were #991 /1938 Have a good look at the reverse as had this remained the reverse there would never been a full step nickel! Just pulling these two from the vault I see the proof is toning a nice rich purple blue. 2002 FSNC matte obv..jpg 2002 FSNC matte rev.jpg 2002 FSNC proof rev.jpg 2002 FSNCproof obv.jpg

I think that is a cool tribute in my opinion. I'm going to try and find me one or both, any suggest what tags to use when searching auction sites? I really don't even know what to call it. The $75 plus price pushes my limits as I can buy a ton of stuff for that money. I love quality but quantity is my thing LOL. I buy bargains (at least in my opinion) but I'm partial to the Jefferson's even though I will buy anything if I think it's cheap. A poor man has poor ways I reckon.
