Help Identifying a 1700's large cent

    Is this a 1793? 1794? 95 or 96? Thanks for the help and thoughts.

    My guess is 1794. Hook on lowest curl of hair.

    Agreed, 1794 (obverse is the Head of '94).
    Since there are 67 varieties (including 11 NC's) of the 1794, you should get it attributed as some of the 1794's can be quite valuable.

    I hate to be contrary, but I don't believe this is a 1794. To my eyes, this is a 1796, probably an S-87. I didn't take a long time studying it, but on quick examination, it seems to match. It is a variety that often shows a weak strike on the 6, as well.
