1940 nickel....D in wrong place!!??

    Here's a 1940 nickel with what looks like a D sticking out on the right edge of the building, instead of above the right edge where you'd typically find it. When I look through my 30x loupe, it stands above the surface. Can anyone confirm this, namely if it's already been reported? I can't find it in Ken Potter's book or the Red Book. Could it have been missed due to its location? Or, is it a die crack? Yet, it looks like a D! Thanks in advance!

    I'm sorry but to my eye that looks like a normal 1940 Philly nickel with PMD.

    Ten thousand nickels this week, I must be losing my mind.... one of these has got to be an error!

    I still say - anything over a 10X loupe will make people see million dollar errors when they are really nothing!!

    It's always in the one the bank never gives me. :(




    Literally, they never give me the Brink ones anymore. I have better luck with those (ones with plastic wrappers).
