Good question. It's just my opinion. It looks like the color progression is "backward". I would expect to see the dark blues/violets on the trailing edge (near the rim) of the toning, not the leading edge (center). I could be completely wrong. I freely admit that, but it looks forced to me, which is why I answered AT.
ok. I am ok with opinions. thank you for yours. at least it did not cost that much. learning as I go. it's going in the what to look out for A.T. section. lol
My opinion doesn't mean it's true....lol. I think it's a cool looking piece. I'm assuming that's a silver coin. I've actually purchased 2 AT toned Morgans on purpose, so I could study them. I'm still WAY short of knowledgeable. Did my comment about the progression make sense? It just seems backwards to me.
not sure about the progression ? I collect mostly world coins, but have a toned coin collection as well. hoping Robek and gbroke and WingedLiberty give their opinions on this coin too.
I have more questions about A.T. toned coins on this 1 if it is A.T. is it a chemical thing added or heated or album it might have been put in ??? or a combination of all 3 ???
Pcgs secure will smell coin if no known toning agents are found it N T . I am not sure how Ngc has been doing At vs Nt..
