so now we have Chicago ana kennedys selling for only a couple hundred over their non Ana peer 70 coins.

Does this surprise anyone? Is there anyone out there who expected the premium to hold up more over time then it has?

Coin for the thread. I'm practicing with photos. The first reverse is light while the second one uses a light dispersing tissue. (Kleenex).
I don't know which reverse I like better please feel free to comment.

So glad I sold mine at the show for $3,050. I seriously almost kept it to sell later.

I preffer 1st pic of reverse - kleenex pic makes it look kinda fake. Is the glare on the last pic from a flash or light source overhead??

I'll never understand why someone would pay 3 or 2 or even 1.2x the gold value for a modern gold coin. 1800's, yes. 2014, no.

I don't care about the gold Kennedy enough to even comment on it, but you sure do have some gorgeous coins, Vic.

I can totally understand why someone would. After all, they did for the UHR which has pretty much held its value.

I believe that the Kennedy was simply over hyped due to stories regarding the HOF coins. This brought a flurry of activity up to the point that the prices started to falter. The end came very quickly almost as quickly as it began.

The writing was actually on the wall but it appears that folks were lined up beside a different wall! funny.gif

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I was at a dealers table today and someone came up to try and sell a gold Kennedy. The dealer wax even interested at $1k, and said there was almost no market for them.

You have to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.....know when to walk away and know when to run.
Glad I sold mine at the show too....I've said it before, but these things were like live grenades!
