I know most don't seem to use ICG as a TPG here but they are offering a special right now. Check their site first as I'm not sure if this is just a FUN show special or available for direct submission. Just sayin'...(Saw this in this weeks Numismatic News)
ANACS has a similar special right now, but their minimum is 10 coins at $10 each. Only silver dollars and cents though.
ICG isn't that bad. Many decent coins with decent and accurate grades in their slabs, but, the slabs are so ugly. That would be my only beef.
If you are registered as an "Insider" they included halves as an apology for an error in their original offering. And all dollars are included, not just silver dollars ie. trade dollars, Eisenhower, Silver Eagles, etc.)
If you want top dollar, you might find it harder with icg. I think they are great, but dealers I've run into always lowball offers of them. Then some of them turn around and sell them higher. Depends on your intentions I guess.
I hear that. I started with ICG but switched to ANAC's because of that reason. ICG does a good job but they still struggle for after market value and you don't see a lot of listings in dealers price lists. They must hide them under the counter. But I would trust their grades and bee looking for their slabs at a dealers shop just to get a better deal price wise. It is a shame there is such a high mark up on PCGS slabs. I will not buy these for that reason alone.
Yeah I've seen pcgs grade on par with the other tpgs a lot of the time. Sometimes, yeah they grade conservatively, but I don't think they alone determine what grade is what. I prefer ngc, then icg and Anacs, then last pcgs. At least that's the order I'd go if I ever decided to grade a coin
