A old friend asked me to sell his remaining ancient coins. Among them were these three tokens which are not ancient but nevertheless old. I wonder if any of you can identify one or more of them. The sizes are 31 mm, 22 mm, and 28 mm. I think the first two are lead and the last one possibly pewter.
Possibly pilgrims tokens, the IHS would stand for 'in hoc signo'(vincis). The symbols of death and Calvary seem appropriate. I'd never heard of such things but it appears others have. http://www.tokensociety.org.uk/topics/lead/index.shtml
