I'm sure when they seen a conditional rarity or monster toner, they do. Then they overcompensate their rightfully high grade with a super strict one.

How long is the list of books priced over $100K? I didn't really think of books getting much past that price threshold. You make it sound like there's tons of books traded at and above this level.

I'm just curious, since I never really thought about it.

I am not in that market, but I believe many handprinted books as well as 15th century books can get into that range.

There is definitely a range. I have a copy of 4 books Galen wrote bound into one book printed in the mid 1500's (1548 ish). I picked it up for $1500

well it becomes their job, but I am certain that very rare coins, or coins they are very interested in personally would still make their heart beat faster

I think they do. I think a lot of them our still collectors in heart and when they see a rear one or one that is exceptional they get excited. We all do in our jobs I think. I'm an engineer and most of the time the job is boring, but going out on grade and watching a pile being drove for a new bridge, or a bridge demo or a bridge move its exciting. Can't stop thinking but I beat most NGC star coins are from the graders going cool that one looks awesome, oh wait some one doesn't like that work in this thread, so the probably say this one looks good.
