I wish I had known that 15 years ago. I liberated a couple of Morgan dollars from them.

Never seen that one looks like it's a 65 anyway

Ouch! Maybe we can see better pictures of the MS65? No wonder they're not around anymore...

That's how you phrase "carte blanche" and take zero responsibility for your subjective opinion.

    You mean it's not a $400 coin?

For now, that's the best I have...

I don't know. Maybe with a CAC sticker. How much does the unique slab really bring to the table? I'm not sure if that is a $400 desirable toning. I'm in the $200 - $250 range with very nice and recent toned auctions.

I will say that I paid far, far less than $250 for this. And I intend to keep it as is as part of my collection of the history of slabs.

What I find fascinating is that within what looks like a couple 1000s slabs, we have two different certification # formats (nnnn vs. nnnn-nn) and two different grade scale representations (U 64. vs. MS/65)

I had a few of those back in the day. I've no idea what ever became of them, I'm pretty sure I just cracked the coin out. I still have some old Blanchard slabs though. I remember paying ten bucks a piece for uncirculated Morgans. Wish I would have bought many more.
