Mind as well post my first 2015 piece, a silver greek. Was a price I couldnt pass up, despite some of its flaws, details are all there. Adding a silver greek of any kind is a big woo hoo for me. SIKYONIA, Sikyon (400 - 350 B.C.) AR Hemidrachm O: Chimaera walking left; SI R: Dove flying left. 2.48g 16mm SNG Copenhagen 57; Dewing 1834
Thats one of my favorite coins to have, and where else can you find a coin with a chimaera on it? I believe I have its twin.
Wow Mat, that's a beautiful addition ... congrats on the sweet animal-coin!! I also have a rockin' example (mine is a Stater rather than a hemidrachm) ... ... man, I'd love to score a hemidrachm to hang-out with my lonely Stater!!
Great first pick up. I also need to purchase one of these. I truly love the stater denomination. I must say all denominations of this pigeon series are interesting and artistically appealing.
=> well ya horny dawg, if you didn't blow all of your cash "chasing tail" then perhaps you'd be able to afford a Stater every now and then?!! ... just jokes, Mat ... => you rock in 2015 (aka => the year of the awesome Greek animal-coins!!)
