GTG: Capped Bust Half

    I'm not seeing the luster. Your pictures (which capture the slab quite nicely) make the coin look dull and lifeless (especially the reverse). I was grading based on the pictures you posted, and I think it must look much nicer in hand to merit an AU53. /shrug

    Try and interpret the pictures based on the quality of the image and the types of lights he may be using. For example, in the obverse pic (at least on my monitor), the luster shows up quite strongly in the fields (around the stars) in front of Liberty's forehead, around the date region, and slightly behind her hair. The reverse is similar.

    Yay, was first right awnser. Great coin, I love the capped bust series and high grades are my favorites for capped bust, and your is no exception.

    Jason I have plenty experience interpreting images. This coin looks homely to me at best. I think the images were taken to expose the slab properly not the coin.

    I know you do. I guess we are just seeing different things, or interpreting them differently on this one.
