Worth submitting? 1856 $1 gold, may have conditions

    Yeah, it does. But even in a low grade, the slab will help to sell it when the time comes.

    Seems like you've already decided that it would be worth submitting. Slabbing it could assure a future buyer without the knowledge to determine it for themselves that the coin's genuine I guess. But I don't think slabbing is really going to help the value all that much as it's likely to end up in a details holder anyway.

    Was thinking of slabbing it more for authentication purposes, to give myself and any future buyer an official opinion that the coin is genuine, as described.

    It will help sell down the road. Might not add any value to the coin but it will help it move faster when ready to liquidate....I personally will not touch a 1 dollar raw. Been there and learned that le$$on..
