I have an 1957 Silver certificate PMG AU 55 (previously hinged on 4 back corners) Star 66666666A Where would I find the value for this?
I don't know about value, but please post a pic of your note. I'd really like to see it and it might aid in putting a value on it.
it can be valuable.... Ebay link : http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=same serial numbers&_from=R40|R40|R40&_osacat=11116&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X66666666&_nkw=66666666&_sacat=11116 note sure how much more +++ value it would add with the star ???? amazing fancy note you have there.
You won't find a publication which will place a value on the bill. But.....you have a rare and highly valuable asset. This is the kind of asset that appeals to a small sliver of the paper money collector world (paper collectors with money to burn in oddities and rarities). Heritage Auctions might be something to consider.
Any 8 random digit number is equally rare in itself, but such as this do provide an outlet for people with more money than sense, when the same money could buy some really nice looking large size notes, or heaven forbid, some really attractive foreign notes. Placing huge values on such collecting trivia is sign of collectors neck deep in their fundamental orifices.
