Curious eBay Item: "36th Coin Minted by Royal Mint"

    Year 2000, check, portrait of Thalia Elizabeth's favorite monarch, check, but...

    "The 36th coin minted by the Royal Mint"...

    I know that the seller means the 36th out of the first 100 of these coins, specifically 2000 British 1 Sovereign gold pieces, but is this legit? I suppose we're taking this "first strike" thing just a little too seriously here, but I'm wondering if the story being told here is true.

    I know TE does not have enough in her piggy bank for this, but I am curious for your opinions nonetheless.

    If I remember correctly, yes the mint did number them.
