:goofer: Man, I've been watching and waiting to bid on a 2006 Anniversary silver 3 coin set on E-bay for the last several weeks to make a bid but the prices just go higher and higher. Not sure what to do now, don't want to go after a set and in 6 months time or a year regret the purchase. On the other hand, maybe they will be even higher then....

You better get a set now, while you still can, that set will hit 500.00 BUCKS, you just wait and see.

Wow! That price would amaze me. I bought 5 sets for $500 and to think that each one is going to be worth that much this soon is incredible. They could also drop like the 1998-s matte Kennedy did. They were listed for about $400 and now I've seen them for a little over $300. One never knows.

When the next hot coin hit’s the market, the 2006 ASE will go down a little for awhile.
Just like the Franklin Commemorative Dollars in 2006 went up and have been down since the ASE craze but with a mintage of only 250,000 totals for Uncirculated and Proofs for each Franklin coin. They will be in demand again.

Rememeber this set contain two unique coins, the reverse proof and the W uncirculated. If these type of coins are made this year then the 2006 will be in higher demand. Even if the mint does continue these coins they are still unique and anyone whating the complete set will have to acquire them.

This set will continue to be in high demand for sometime. Just my opinion.

I made the mistake of opening the fed-ex box of my ten sets.........

My understanding is that these sets, once opened from the fed-ex mint sealed box aren`t worth didly, as the sets themselves are not mint sealed. I am talking about the A10 3 coin Silver Eagle Sets....

Want to give them to me since you ruined it by opening them. Just kidding:)

I think you needed to leave them sealed if you were going to send them in to get graded as a set. You can still get them graded - just not sure what the deal is, or if they grade them individually. Also I do not know how to tell if a "graded aniversery set" was a complete set or not. I think the 3 coin sets with a box are still selling between 270 and 300 bucks a pop. At least the last time I looked - in my personal opinion I think you are still okay.

    line_grade,
IMO, if you want a set, then go for it! If the Mint issues a reverse proof and a W-Unc. this year, I would not be surprised to see sets (opened or unopened) skyrocket to $600+ dollars each. People may realize that the RP and W-Unc. were not a one-time deal, and are the beginning of a new series. OTOH, if the mint doesn't issue the two, people will still want them and (hopefully) prices will stay high. :D In the interest of full disclosure, I do own a few sets.

If the slab numbers are consecutive, then they come from the same set.

    thanx mark_h

Yeah I know they still OK.....

****ed me off these weren`t mint sealed per set. The TPG`s won`t grade them as Anniversery sets....

I almost didn`t open the fed-ex box till i checked eBay..... OH WELL!!!!! LOL!!!!

But aren't they different series - my PCGS graded set all say "Eagle 20th anniversary", but start with a different number. I just assumed one for MS, one for RP and one for PR. I just assumed(did not really care) that the set I bought was advertised as one of the 10 sets the guy had graded. Each of his sets included the box that come with the set(or so he said). So as far as I am concerned I got the 3 coins and a box all for 280 plus shipping, handling and insurance. Now if I could just sell the box for $55 dollars I would be even happier.
