Please keep in mind these pics were taken with a Dino-Lite microscope camera and it shows things you most likely would not see with the naked eye. But I am just looking at a "yes" or "no" and "4" or "5" so I can judge what to do with them. They are uncirculated, all 3 are 1959-P Jeffersons. I don't know how close NGC looks at the steps to see if there are small nicks or gouges that would obscure any part of the steps, whether they use a loop or just eyeball it and if it looks okay, it gets it. But I figured the closeups give a better look at the condition of the steps. It will also give me a better understanding of what to look for. Thanks for your input.
I would say no on all 3. No expert here but I have read the information and references that have been supplied by fellow CT members and these do not seem to meet the criteria.
no, no and no There are breaks on all three nickels that preclude these from being FS. They are well struck, however, and are nice nickels
Thanks for the input. I thought they looked pretty good too but I think the Dino-Lite brings up stuff I don't see as clear with a loop.
None of them should be designated as full step pieces. In order to receive the full step designation, FIVE (PCGS FS and NGC 5FS) or SIX (NGC 6FS) must be clearly visible. The steps cannot be fused and there can be no significant bridges/interruptions caused by contact marks.
Actually your pics are excellent... But each coin has at least one vertical mark and that's why none of them qualifies for the FS designation. Sorry.
