Hey Rick, do you look at them with a loupe, and then they go under the scope? The left arm of the Y looks like it has a nice split, however I know from experience that those LEDs add shadows that make "splits" appear. I call it "light tricks". Those LEDs that you can't turn off are super tricky.
Always with a 10x first, I've looked at 100s of them, not sure on all the images I posted, liberty is very strong for doubling, that was my main images, everything else looks pretty good, except for " IN " its out of plumb !!

With a doubled die, one side would be full size ( second press) and one would be reduced ( first press) unless totally separated full size like the 55/55. Having a regular letter or digit, with a line running between two near equal size 'sides' is either a lighting problem, or some kind of mechanical effect. This time or next time you have something similar, photo the same kind of coin , you are sure is no DD, and compare the relative size of the letters or numbers ,( same year would be best as design changes did occur)
The top one has more reflection, but other than that, I see no difference in the size of the lettering , or the apparent line running down the center, which is most likely due to lighting. The top coin does seem to show some extra 'ghost' edges, but when we compare say to the base of the "R" , they both have it , just less in the darker coin. If there had been a true doubling , the letter would have been different appearing. What do you think?
