Bought it in a anacs blue label ms 62 slab it now resides in a pcgs ms 64 slab. Got an 1887 seated dime with the same color. I bought both for the toning!

Something else to remember regarding this period......1857 marked the end of foreign coins being accepted as legal tender in the US.......

I know you want to keep it to a decade, but consider the coin acts of 1853 which reduced the weight of the silver minor coins and thus allowed them to re-appear in the marketplace - these would be the "with arrows" varieties of the seated coinage.

This is probably one of the coolest thread posts I've seen yet! IMO this decade... and prior covering the California gold rush, 1850s and on through about 1866. California gold rush, Civil War era is the best performing sector overall in PM's. very fascinating, very collectible. I would advise anyone if you have the ability to collect these great artifacts do it! Great storage of wealth!

I have such coins too. The grade isn't cool, but it was so difficult to me to find these coins in Siberia!
