Secret Santa 2014

Finally got around to taking pictures! Thank you to my Secret Santa. I definitely did not have anything like these coins in my collection. These are the best coins you could have sent - no take-backs!

That's a heck of a nice large cent!

 

My secret santa really came through this year! I got a lovely uncirculated 2014 ASE, a 2014 US Philippines 20 Centavo (in BU shape), and a solid, beautifully coppery 1865 2 cent piece.

I got quite the variety from my Secret Santa - what I find the most interesting is this Philippine 50 centavos - but there were some other foreigns and a Flying Eagle cent as well - my earliest US coin. Thanks Santa!

Hey everybody, I'm trying to compile a gallery of all of the gifts received and noticed that a bunch of you haven't posted your gifts yet. I know some of you are out of town and haven't opened your gifts yet, but if you have, please post them. Also if you haven't received a gift yet, please let me know.

 

First time I've had a chance to take photos. I want to thank my Secret Santa for two things. First, the gift of a beautiful Uncirculated Silver Baseball Hall of Fame coin. And second, the toughest challenge I've had trying to image a raw coin. These suckers are next to impossible. Needless to say, it looks much better in hand.

 

My apologies to my Secret Santa, just got back into town a few minutes ago & security waived me down to say they received a package for me while I was gone.

Thank You Secret Santa for a couple of awesome notes to add to my budding currency collection & an beautiful Australian proof commemorating the international year of space!!

Finally made it home and picked up my present. Of course I ripped it right open lol thanks Santa for my two Colomian Exposition coins, one of each year!

 

I also just arrived home and almost immediately opened my package (after signing in to CT first). A box from MN with all secrecy preserved. Included a nice note indicating that the items were carefully selected for me by Santa and his "eldest elf" after studying my CT posts.

The collection includes a Series 1935G One Dollar Silver Certificate, a silver 1938 Philippines 20 cent coin, 5 Victoria Pennies dated 1897 - 1901 and a very nice 1914-S Barber half dollar!

Received a pair of very nice coins from my Santa—a 1991 San Marino 1000 Lire and a 1974 Germany 5 Mark. Thanks spirityoda!

 

My recipient still hasn't acknowledged receipt. Tracking shows the package got to its' destination.........

 

Here's mine. A nicely toned ASE and a Hungarian 10 Filler. Photos aren't as good as the coins are in hand! I would have posted sooner but I've been a bit under the weather.

 

Same here, happened to me last year also.

 

Note to people in Secret Santa --- if you sign up for this to send and receive, you should be acknowledging rec't on here and (hopefully) posting pics and finding good things to say about your gift. Just a thought. Or letting Kirkuleez (this year) know if things aren't to your satisfaction. I don't know about others, but in the 4 years now that I've participated, I do the best I can to give a gift that will be appreciated and I know that in all the ones I've had none have been a disappointment. And if it were, I would be hoping it came from someone who perhaps didn't have the ability to put out something I liked, but still wishing that person to get a good gift that they like. And I would find something really nice to say about it if possible.

 

Mine came yesterday however I was gone for the weekend. Got a 1991 proof set and a few wheat cents, thank you Secret Santa.
