Here are some more pics with a little better lighting. The surface levels are different and on the obverse, there is a clear diagonal line of demarcation to the left of the date.
It's really hard to get the lighting with head on shots for me, as I always block the light. I don't know how you all do it so well. What's a parallel shot?
This only means that you need to improve your whole camera/lighting set-up. Have you attempted to use goose-neck table lamps? Chris
Yeah I'm using a goose neck table lamp (incandescent) in addition to the main light (LEDs) and another fixed lamp (CFL). I'll have to play with the goose neck lamp to see which angle location is best. I don't think the type of light bulb matters in terms of lighting issues when taking pictures, but included them anyway.
Some more pics out of the 2x2. I know it may be hard to tell still but thought I'd try the better lighting technique out. The green is not PVC damage, I believe it is copper patina. The third pic of obverse looks closest to in-person.
