What kind of error is this?

Is this a lamination error on a 1945 Lincoln penny? Any idea on worth?

    Thanks in advance!

I would say this is a very nice example of lamination with circulation wear. Very nice!

it's too damaged for me to determine if it was actually lamination.

Here are some more pics with a little better lighting.

The surface levels are different and on the obverse, there is a clear diagonal line of demarcation to the left of the date.

always take head on or parallel shots vs angled ones if you can manage it.

It's really hard to get the lighting with head on shots for me, as I always block the light. I don't know how you all do it so well. What's a parallel shot?

This only means that you need to improve your whole camera/lighting set-up. Have you attempted to use goose-neck table lamps?

Yeah I'm using a goose neck table lamp (incandescent) in addition to the main light (LEDs) and another fixed lamp (CFL). I'll have to play with the goose neck lamp to see which angle location is best.

I don't think the type of light bulb matters in terms of lighting issues when taking pictures, but included them anyway.

Some more pics out of the 2x2. I know it may be hard to tell still but thought I'd try the better lighting technique out. :)

The green is not PVC damage, I believe it is copper patina.

The third pic of obverse looks closest to in-person.

    Nothing but horrendous corrosion.

I have a cent from the 70s like this. Im figuring PMD also, but the grainy pattern is really odd.

    Looks almost acid-eaten.

Could it be both lamination error and PMD?

Again I say, Lamination with wear.

Awesome! I hope it's worth a pretty penny too, or rather, more than one.

I would say that you could get maybe $35 from a real error collector. That optimal though.
