I got these for a really nice price. And these are nice looking kennedy halves. Some of these old holders don't have nice coins left in them. I couldn't cart them up fast enough. Sometimes by the time I'm going to payment page on something like this there's a quantity problem...
Check for accented hair variety......from the photogs, that second Kennedy could be a candidate. Photos don't expand large enough to be sure. Nice coup.
I know i noticed that too and wondered about if that old holder would have the designation or not. But that 66 is a nice looking one
I have a saved search for kennedy proof pcgs and these popped up under the suggested area. I went to make sure these were the only 2 and carted them up and paid fast.
Still working on images, but I swooped a trio of Kennedys last week... The part I like the best is that the highest cert# of the 3 is the older style label.
Ahh, good ol’, bad ol’ “Accu”grade. We sure used to poke fun at them on the PCGS forums, back in the day. Funny, I look at these kind of nostalgically, now. I did manage to find a nice coin or two in ACG plastic, once upon a time. Of course I hastily removed it from said unsavory plastic. I guess ACG plastic isn’t quite as unsavory now, given the passage of time, and simply because some folks like to collect old slabs for the plastic as much as the coin. These Kennedies look nice. It’s a coin type I’ve never really been interested in much, but I do like the silver proofs.
One time I saw a Pilgrim half in an ACG holder described as a “1920-D”, as if the “D” designer’s initial on the coin (for Cyrus Dallin) was a Denver mintmark.
I finally harvested my ACG collection to create a 20th Century typeset. Now I'm hunting a few items... gives me reason to look.
