Looks like it may have been a good idea to put a few of these away, they have been steadily increasing in the last year or two, and when 2009 hits they will skyrocket.

Some say they will. Some say they will not. I have the proof silver sets and am glad to have them. Think they are very special coins and will always be in demand even after the program is history. But that is my opionion.

I plan on keeping mine for a very long time.

Thats my plan as well. I'll have a set of BU, proof and silver proof. Maybe a set of gold plated novelties as well.
I plan to have mine for a very long time. I've actually fabricated my own display that accommodates the airtite holders. It looks great.

I can see people paying that...

All coins started out as a ""Modern""...

Then if you put them up and sit on them they can grow... Some just take longer...

I collected them because I liked them. The thought and artistry that went into the designs is what attracted me.

Lot of people collect state quarters that they find in pocket change or some they get from the bank when they first come out. Lot of parents are helping their kids collect the state quarters. These kids will grown up and many will continue to collect coins. It will be interesting to see how many of them go back and collect the Uncirculated rolls, proof and mint sets . Just my thoughts

i've been keeping every state quarter i find. a few months ago i counted all of them up and it totaled out to be $100! so i rolled them up and am planning to take them to the bank. they are from circulation so they are not uncirculated or proofs. should i still keep them? or should i hold onto them? i didn't know they were selling for that much.

I think Danr was quoting prices for UNCIRCULATED rolls. If I'm wrong, Bro, I stand corrected. Coinlover, I have to wonder if circulated state quarters, except maybe for 1999 ones and a few scarcer dates, are selling for any more than face value. I see plenty of them in circulation virtually everyday.
