Is it still Ebay policy that the whole slab must be pictured for certified coins?I knew right away this was a details coin but it is advertised as XF45. When you look up the NGC cert number sure enough it is XF details cleaned.

    The auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181617635477

Yeah, the auction is technically non-compliant. But they don't mention NGC in the title, and they do describe it as "cleaned" and "details" in the description.

I was going to give them a pass, but I see that they specified NGC and XF45 in the item-details section; that seems like it's over the line.

I don't think eBay has and item-detail option for details grades. Seller must have chosen whatever was closest. The description does clearly state "NGC details XF". I don't think there is anything unethical here. Technically speaking, not showing the slab is against eBay policy, but I don't see this as a case where the seller is trying to trick someone into buying a details coin as a problem-free one.

Apparently eBay did not like what they did. eBay pulled it.

I get frustrated when you have to read the description for the truth of the listing. Anyone who hides information down there doesn't get my hard earned money.

I think the seller can "write your own" in the item specifics in the "grade" drop down menu. So, Item Specifics > Grade > Write Your Own > XF Details Cleaned.

Maybe ebay reads this thread and pulled it. Just saying
