    Merry Greetings..
That's the first time I encounter this Emperor with such a helmet or so. I have a strong feeling that it's a rare one. The reverse is in Greek lettering though I tend to believe the coin is originally Roman for this type. It weighs 8.35 g. Please assist me to find out. Thanks a lot.. I found Samosata in Commagene - Syria through Wildwinds. They show many Emperors with reverses of the same design( Shape and Greek lettering ) . None of them matched. Even the reverses show figures of goddesses or letterings different from my coin's. I appreciate your help.

Probably my imagination, but I think it looks like Lucius Verus from Heiropolis

Whats the size? Looks like Marcus Aurelius.

    Maybe Hieropolis

This is correct. These legends can cause some confusion as the words were broken up in seemingly haphazard ways. The reverse legend (transliterated to Roman) is QEAS SURIAS IEROPO. The delta is a control mark.

Thank you very much. I found the answer for sure at Wildwinds and was on my way to tell you before I rejoined the thread. It is Lucius Verus, just as BG had thought. The coin is listed as : BMC 35 and Mionnet 45
The difference between these two and mine is that my coin has Delta as control mark. Do I have to tell this to Wildwinds ? The 2 others have either Gamma as control mark, or Emperor head left.

You can write Dane ar wildwinds. She may want to include your coin.
