Double mint mark error?

Forgot to end with...and wash under warm running water using a little bit of a Dishwashing Detergent (like Dawn) until there is no slick feel to the coin.

No question.....it is Zinc rot as is the other cent posted. Although a repunched mintmark could happen on any cent up to 1990, this is not one.

 

I just got this book and wow, there are more errors listed here than what I found anywhere else. There are errors for every single year after 1982 for the penny! Who knew (everyone else on here but me)! Thanks for the suggestion!

 

Now wouldn't it be nice--if the two authors of that book of knowledge on error coins thought OF making it digital? to down load right to your 'putter???
