Went to buy the First Spouse 2014 Bronze Medal Series from the US Mint and found out that they have sold out. There was no indication on the Mint Website that this was to be a limited edition. My mistake was waiting until the end of December to order (an item which isn't normally for sale until the beginning of December). That said, did any Cointalker order more than one set and would be willing to part with an extra? If so, please private message me. Thanks & Merry Christmas
I missed the boat on this one too, dear fellow. Shame on us for waiting till the end of the year. I've always done it the past.........
And just today... US Mint Adds “Sold Out” Product Status for Online Catalog via MintNewsBlog 2014.12.22 The Mint also provided explanation for other status notifications: Sold Out: When all inventory of products has been depleted, taking into account cancellations and other factors. Back Order: When products are in “Back Order” status, this means that the product is available for sale, however there is no inventory in stock and a future ship date is displayed on our website. Products in this status can still be ordered online or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). Out Of Stock: Products in “Out of Stock” status with no “Remind Me” button are not available for sale. If product becomes available through additional production or cancelled orders, the product will be made available for purchase again. Out of Stock with “Remind Me” button: When products are in an “Out of Stock” status with a “Remind Me” button, there is no inventory currently available, but additional inventory is likely. Products in this status cannot be ordered, but by clicking the “Remind Me” button you can request to be reminded by email when product becomes available.
So, no way I'm getting it, right Chris? Poor sod will move on......wasn't that significant to me anyway. Who cares? Se la vie? Ain't gonna slit my wrists over this one.........
Never mind, that was the bottom of the barrel, but when they cut through the bottom of the barrel they will be issuing a set of First Dog medals and after that a set of Presidential Poop medals modelled from actual medical records.
Here's a couple for ya! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-First-...17?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5d5329f609 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-First-...89?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2a496fe1c1 Whoa! I was only kidding with you since a Sold Out item usually brings out the sharks but that second one has 5 bids! Are these people nutz? Aren't all the pieces available individually?
I just checked the site and none of the current spouse medals are available individually. Heck, I'll just get them when the dust settles a bit.
I subscribed to a single set of these a couple of years back but had totally forgotten that I did. When I got the "Your US Mint Order has Shipped" email, I said WTH? Then when I saw that it was the FS 4 coin set I made a mental note to go in and cancel that subscription but as most of my "mental notes" go, I quickly forgot to do it. I wonder where these will end up in the future? I mean, I know that there are some serious First Spouse Bronze medal collectors out there that even get them graded so I wonder if these folks will prop up the prices? Green18, my advice to you and anybody else that is reading is that if you are determined to get a set of these or any other coin every year, then go ahead and subscribe them on the US Mints web site.
I did look on eBay (immediately after finding out that the mint had sold out the First Spouse Bronze Medal Set on Sunday—one day late for me). However, I refuse to pay $200+ for a set that cost less than $20. I suspect (or at least hope) that the prices will be a bit more reasonable in 5-6 months. The only time I've paid more than the original mint price was to get the first (2007) set in OGP, paying $36.00 (in 2009). Does anybody know (or can guess) how many sets were minted?
7,500 Sets as far as I know. BUT, the coins were available individually as well so nobody is gonna know until later.
i believe i have 3 sets of each for grand daughters 2007-2014 and a 2007 pcgs70 first spouse bust coin it might be first strike ,cant remember
I am interested in the Lady Liberty Sub-set to these, but cant find mintage numbers to see if its even worth doing. I need to get the Seated Liberty Designs in gold as well.
