Another C Nova in a bit better condition, and with I believe a planchet clip. (Inspected the side and it looks pretty clean)
Bill, may need to pick one of those up from you in a few years or so. My oldest US silver came from mainebill coincidentally, in the form of a beautiful 1807 Half.
Wouldn't mind an upgrade myself on the half. Is a nice original one but would love to bump it to ch vf or xf. The flowing hair dollar is a real tough die variety too i think only 6 graded at pcgs so that'll be ahard one to upgrade. I need a off center bust and a 3 leaves to complete my 1795 dollars tho. And a 1794!! Maybe when you finish school and are making tons of money you might get one first
Oldest gold. Surprising I don't have much real early here but I never focused on the gold like I do silver and copper that and the stuff I like is so darn expensive
Can I cheat? This is a restrike.. oldest date, but not really the oldest Or if I cannot cheat that way, can I cheat with a counterfeit struck in America? Machin's Mills piece. No? How about a MA Cent? Won't let me do that either? OK, fine, it's this one:
Like that dirty look on your half. Your $1 VF30? Light adjustment marks in the hair give it a cool appearance IMO. Nice!
Half is ok vg 8 like to up it to vf or better a nice original. Dollar vf 30 you got it been dipped and has retoned some. B2 bb20 not a real common one Draped bust f details enviro damage due to the black spots. Is now raw actually a nice original surfaces one
I would eventually like to upgrade my half as well. VF is the grade I prefer when it comes to these early halves & dollars as well.
I agree tho I've seen some f-15 coins I like as well or better then some higher grades. As everyone here knows I'm a total surface and color fan. Lately I've been more focused on my trade dollar set and just filling in some of the common stuff for my type set. What I really want is a nice chain cent in problem free g-vg
