    Thanks for the information guys. I think I'll put Mitchiner reference as a secondary reference number, Tye being first for a primary reference. So, Jitals is the correct currency name of these coins then?

    Jitals is the name now commonly used for this category of coinage. We do no know how the coinage was named a the time, so it is just a term more or less agreed upon in our time.
    @Doug: i stand with my statement that i see no use for Mitchiner classification numbers any more in my attributions for this group where there is an improved classification which is more detailed and unambiguous.
    And to even more oppose your defence of the use of the Mitchiner attribution: Especially in Indian coinage, erroneous descriptions are perpetuated because people (less knowledgeble and critical than you) just parrot Mitchiner classifications and attributions which have been disproved long ago. {end of off-topic rant from my side}
    I think many people will agree that both photos and line drawings have benefits and drawbacks. A combination would be preferable, if feasable and sensible also from different specimen.

    I'm a little annoyed right now. I just got the AR Jital in the mail just now but the Kushan coin was not in there. I just mailed the dealer about it.
