Here's one. Not the nicest of designs though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SHAKESPEARE-2...454QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180094781695 Phoenix
Phoenix, it was so nice of you to find that. I was thinking more of a design where the subject's head takes up most of the space, like a Mercury dime or Franklin or Kennedy half. If I were going to collect Shakespeare medals, I have no doubt I would want the one you found in my collection. But since I want only one such medal, I'll keep looking. Again, Phoenix, thanks.
This one's nice... http://cgi.ebay.com/GB-2001-LG-Calendar-Art-Medal-SHAKESPEARE_W0QQitemZ250050452375QQcmdZViewItem http://www.davidcornell.com/public_html/pages/shakespeare.htm http://www.davidcornell.com/public_html/pages/shakespearerev.htm The reverse does nothing for me, but the obverse is quite nice IMO.
You're quite welcome gunsmoke! It was the only one I could find. I used google ebay and everything. AnemicOaks look a little nicer than mine though. Glad I could help! And good luck! And of course, we'll want to see pics on the ones you will choose. Phoenix
Thanks, everybody, for your contributions. I've read them over and studied the medal pix a good bit, and I have decided to go with satootoko's suggestion. I would like to have them all, but can't afford them. I'm a longtime enthusiast of Shaky and can quote reams of his stuff. I SHOULD own a Shakespeare medal. Referring to Phoenix21's suggestion, I don't think I will be able to show pix of the medal. I've never owned a digital camera. I do have a scanner and used to be able to scan coin images into my computer with great clarity, but somehow the scanning doesn't come out well any more. But if it turns out I can post clear pix of the obverse and reverse of the Shakespeare medal, I will. Thanks again. You're great guys.--gunsmoke
