I'm new around here to say the least. I was searching some roles of GW dollars for the 'edgeless' coins and came across this coin. It is from a brand new fed released roll, never circulated before I cracked them open. The coin is very dark in color, almost appears tarnished, but the color is only really on the face of the coin and not so much the rim or collar around the images. I posted the picture below of what I'm talking about and am looking for any advice someone may have. There is a porition of another coin in the same picture for comparison sake. Thanks!

If it came out a new roll, the chances are high that it came from the mint this way. Nice find! Hope it turns out good for you.
If I recall correctly, this is a mint error, and is the result of an unburnished planchet. I have seen a few reports of these popping up in rolls.
Hi All, I just found one in a BU roll of 2007 D Presidential dollars less than ten minutes ago. It looks exactly like the one pictured here and on Ebay. It is a coin struck on an unburnished planchet. I cant post a picture of tyhe coin as I am going to use it in my next column, but it is what it is Thos of us who are familiar with this type of error can usually determine if it is real or a fake job. They do occur and in my opinion are fairly scarce. Thanks, Bill
