My 2nd. coin from club night, a coin that you find very reasonable priced, with great details. so i picked this coin out,i really liked the reverse, but when i got home i found i have the very same reverse. what a bonehead... still i like the coin times two. Philip ll as Caesar...244-247.AD. Ar Antoninianius.. Obv. Bust of Philip ll right. Rev.Philip ll standing left, holding globe, leaning on spear, captive at feet. Mint Rome. 22mmx 4.01g. Nice big flan..
Nice, some dealers tend to price him higher then he needs to be due to being a "son of an emperor". I had this same type in about the same shape but still have my tetradrachm.
Nice, well centered and great detail. How can you go wrong with twins, eh? Here's a brother of the triplets, just not as good lookin' as his brothers:
Very nice OP coin and other post Philip II coins. Amazingly enough, I ordered a Philip II sestertius earlier today that I am going to post about later.
Wow, very nice, Eng! I believe these duplicates are also known by the numismatic term 'Next Year's Secret Santa Present'
Good looking coin, post the other one so we can see both of them. And having doubles of ancients is fine, no two look the same, its kinda like snowflakes except they don't melt in your hands.
On the reverse, legs are different and he's standing closer to his staff, not as close to the captive.. 23mmx 4.11g.
